Su-jung Sung begins her exploration from the fetal state—the primordial spatio-temporal environment of human existence, where the body encounters the world solely through sensation before acquiring language and cognition. Focusing on non-visual mediums such as touch, sound, and vibration—which have been marginalized by contemporary visual-centric technological environments—she liberates the audience's body from the confines of the flat screen, restoring it to a "resonating organism." The aesthetic core of her practice lies in constructing an environment of care where the body senses and responds prior to conceptual understanding.
She has experimented with barrier-free sensory installations that expand accessibility for diverse bodies, directing projects such as Blue and Sparkling (2026), It Must Be the Shape of Love (2025), and the Baby Darling series (2024–2025). Furthermore, through the multidisciplinary art project Reset in the egg (2024) and the experimental collective 'Image Paradigm’s' Illusion Seoul series (2019–2021), she has investigated how participant mobility and auditory frequencies transcend individual memory to expand into communal solidarity. She was awarded artist grants from the Arts Council Korea (ARKO) in 2022 and 2024, and from the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture (SFAC) in 2020.

비언어적 감각과 신체적 공명을 통해 인간 원형의 '돌봄'을 소환하며, 다양한 신체와 감각이 존재하는 유니버설 공간 시스템을 연구·설계한다.
성수정은 인간을 존재하게 하는 최초의 시공간인 - 몸이 아직 언어와 인지를 갖기 전, 오직 감각으로만 세계를 마주하던 - 태아적 상태에 대한 탐구에서 출발한다. 시각 중심적 기술 환경이 소외시켜 온 촉각과 청각, 진동 등의 비시각적 매체를 중심으로, 관객의 신체를 닫힌 스크린에서 벗어나 '공명하는 유기체'로 되돌려놓는다. 개념적 이해에 앞서 신체가 먼저 감응하는 돌봄의 환경을 구축하는 것이 작업의 미학적 핵심이다.
<푸르고 반짝이는>(2026), <사랑하는 모양이야>(2025), <베이비 달링> 시리즈(2024~2025) 등을 기획하며 다양한 신체의 접근성을 확장하는 배리어프리(Barrier-free) 감각 설치를 실험해 왔다. 나아가 다원예술 프로젝트 < Reset in the egg> (2024) 및 실험그룹 ‘이미지 패러다임’의 <환상 서울> 시리즈(2019~2021)를 통해 참여자의 이동과 청각적 주파수가 어떻게 개인의 기억을 넘어 공동체적 연대로 확장되는지 실험했다. 2022, 2024년 한국문화예술위원회, 2020년 서울문화재단 창작기금을 수혜했다.
